Large retail store owners are able to reduce the prices of their products drastically and offer large sales to customers, especially during the holiday season. This leave smaller business owners at a lose because they need to keep their prices as in in order to keep their door open and their business successful. It is practically important, this time of year, that these smaller business find a way to promote their products and bring the the customers.

There are a few things that the smaller business owner can do to reach out to customers and show then that their business is appreciated. Most of the ideas are extremely fun for both the customer and the business, while being relatively inexpensive.

One way to get customers into your store is to offer early shoppers a few privileges. You can set up a table in the store full of donuts, bagels and coffee for the early morning customer. On top of that offer anyone who makes a purchase within your first two hours of business an additional discount on their items. You can even offer door prizes to the first few customers that walk into your store. These ploys will make your business the first stop on a holiday shoppers list, and they will be more tempted to purchase an item in your store, if it will save them a trip to a larger retail store later in the day. When working with these promotions you will surprise yourself on how much your sales will increase and how many people are lines up outside your store when you arrive at work in the morning.

Also, consider incentives to buy more. This can be done by using additional savings to those who have bought a lot or a great shopping bag or other promotional gift to those who spend upward of a certain dollar amount. These promotional items will not only encourage your customers to spend more, but they will travel around with your customers serving as a further advertisement for your business.

Whatever promotion you run this holiday season, the main focus should be to get customers through your doors before they shop at any other store. This is the best way to ensure that you have a profitable holiday season.

When you are organizing your next company event, don’t forget the promotional giveaways, as this will let your employees know how much you appreciate the job they do. You don’t have to spend a large amount of money, give them something fun like custom printed stress toys, or promotional games and puzzles.
