It all seemed rather innocent at first. Many sports have came into the spotlight, only to be dashed away like bad dreams because of poor marketing or a very weak premise. But not this one. Not the Ultimate Fighting Championship. This sport came onto the scene and was not destined to leave.

People who followed the sport of boxing were not worried at first. They all thought that this type of fighting was not worth watching. They thought it was not something that would be around for too long because to them it was not true fighting. It was something that belonged on the streets, not in a professional ring.

The boxers would pummel each other for anywhere from 10 to 15 rounds about 3 minutes each. The bell would ring and the fighters would face off against one another. They would hit each other from the waist up to the head. They would fight in combinations of body blows to head strikes. One after another, in combinations that would eventually end in one of the fighters getting knocked unconscious. If not that, then being knocked down three times within one match would also cause the fight to end.

The best part about all of this was not how rich the people behind the sport were getting, and they were. But rather the fighters. Because the sport was viable and was a money maker, it attracted the best fighters that the world had to offer. On top of that, young rookie fighters began training all over the world with the hopes of one day fighting in this sport.

Boxing was not on television as often as it used to be and on top of that, the purse that fighters were used to getting for a fight was also getting smaller and smaller. This was because the marketing dollars were not there anymore. They marketing was all going towards the MMA. The fighters were learning to take advantage of these opportunities. A smart fighter could not only make tons of money, but also gain more popularity by doing so.

The sport even spawned money making enterprises as well. Clothing companies began selling their merchandise at fights and to fighters. Fighters were wearing their shirts and shorts and this made people want to wear what the fighters wore. As a result, the clothing company started making money hand over fist. And just like that another money making company was born.

Many companies were born like this, from clothing to training centers and hall of fame type stars. Schools of certain fighting styles started all over the world and training fighters did everything they could to try and enter these schools because they hoped that training with these well known fighters would be their ticket to one day fighting in the octagon with the fighters they grew up watching.

Overall, the Ultimate Fighting Championship was gaining ground everywhere. It was gaining popularity and making more money on sports tickets than anyone ever thought it would. It was a dream come true. The fighters were coming from everywhere and they had more quality fights every week. The sport was here to stay.
